John Heffner
John Heffner (heffnerj@comcast.net). Until his retirement in 2006, John was the Executive Director of Training and Educational Services for the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC). AGC has more than 80 years of experience in the construction industry and represents more than 30,000 general contractor, specialty contractor, and supplier/service provider members in 100 Chapters nationwide. John had responsibility for all craft and management education programs and activities for the association and coordinated AGC’s cooperative training efforts with career-tech education, joint labor-management apprenticeship and the Departments of Labor and Education.
John is currently an independent consultant for AGC and its Chapters and for a number of local school districts and construction industry training programs. He received his Bachelors Degree form Tennessee Tech. University and his Masters Degree in Industrial Education from the University of Maryland. John was with AGC for 26 years and spent the prior 10 years with the Montgomery County, Maryland Public School System. [3-year term starting 2004]
