Susan Katzman

Susan KatzmanSusan Katzman (susan314@charter.net) recently retired as Divisional Director for Career & Technical Education with the St. Louis Public School District. During her 36 years, she was involved in many endeavors including curriculum development, preschool-grade 12-career education, summer school, community education, and high school teaching. She shepherded the design, construction, and programmatic planning of a new $30M four-year, full-day academic/technical school, the acquisition of two federal smaller learning community grants and the development of 14 district career academies. The preschool-grade 12-career education classroom curricula are still sold nationally and many of the experiential programs with the business community became national models.

Susan served as secretary of the Workforce Investment Board, on the Governor’s School-to-Work Task Force and as secretary of the board for the St. Louis regional School-to-Career organization. She is the author of numerous articles, has keynoted or presented at over 65 national conferences and currently enjoys working as a consultant. Susan earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. [2-year term starting in 2004]
