Susan Klonsky

No Photo AvailableSusan Klonsky, director of development for the Small Schools Workshop, has been deeply involved in the reform of Chicago Public Schools for more than 20 years. A parent of Chicago schoolchildren, she served as an elected member of several of Chicago's local school councils. She is a former senior staff member of the North Central Regional Education Laboratory, a federally funded research agency. Ms. Klonsky served as editor and author of numerous education publications. She served as a trustee for and consultant to several foundations and non-profit organizations. Her personal research focuses upon the role of the arts in education. Ms. Klonsky conducts popular workshops for teachers, parents, and community leaders on the art of raising funds to improve public schools.

Susan is the mother of three daughters, all of whom attended Chicago public schools. [Term starting July 2005]
