Jean Miyahira
Jean Miyahira (miyahiraj005@hawaii.rr.com), a consultant and retired educator, has extensive experience in developing and delivering innovative educational pilot programs for the State of Hawaii’s Department of Education, including the Travel Industry Practicum funded by the State’s Legislature, and various High School Career Academies of Travel and Tourism, Finance, International Business, and Telecommunications. She also coordinated the Business and Computer Technology Learning Center and the statewide standards-based curriculum for the Academy of Travel programs.
Jean was elected to the Board of Directors of the HawaiiUSA Federal Credit Union, a 108,000-member organization, with an emphasis on strategic planning, board governance, and business partnerships. She chairs the Nominations and Elections Committee and the Executive Committee. She is a National Milken Educator, a mentor to Academy teachers, and a participant in the Pacific Asian Management International financial management, University of Hawaii.
