Dr. Daniel Smith
Daniel Smith, Ph.D. (dsmith@atlanta.k12.ga.us) joined the NCAC Board in 2004, bringing with him an extensive set of career experiences in education, most of which has been in the Atlanta public school system. Since 1987, he has been the Director of Career, Agriculture and Technical Education. Prior to this position, Dan had been the Department Chair and Off-Campus Coordinator for the Atlanta Area Technical and before that, a classroom teacher of Marketing and Distributive Education for eight years.
Dan earned a doctorate degree in Vocational Leadership from Georgia State University (1997). He also holds Ed.S. and M.A. degrees from Georgia State and a Bachelor of Arts from Eastern Michigan University. Among his current professional organizations and affiliations are the American Association of School Administrators, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, the American Vocational Association, the National Education Association, and the High School That Work Urban Network as well memberships in state and local Associations of Educators and Vocational Educators. [2-Year term starting 2005]
